Greenwich to Heathrow Airport Taxi

Landing at Heathrow Airport? Let us take the stress off

Your driver is waiting with a name board the moment you come through customs into arrivals – not in a car park, not on the phone. We track the flight, so a late landing costs you nothing, and the first 60 minutes after the plane lands are free waiting time. Luggage trolleys, a child seat, a wheelchair-friendly car: tell us when you book and it is ready.

SIM card and money on the way. Still carrying your own currency? That is fine: every car takes cards and contactless, so you need no pounds in hand for the journey. If you want a UK SIM or some cash, say so and your driver will point you to the kiosks in arrivals (SIM cards: WHSmith and the Sim Local / Simpoint kiosks in every arrivals hall; currency: Travelex and ICE desks in all terminals (airport rates are the worst in London – change £20–£50 for the first day and the rest in town)) or, usually cheaper, stop at a supermarket, Post Office or bank on the route. Our local drivers know where the fair rates and the working cash machines are – trust them to sort it in minutes.

Disabled-friendly arrival. Special assistance: Book via your airline at least 48h ahead. Assistance areas: T2 Level 5 behind check-in A/B; T3 Level 1 above A/B; T4 Zone B by Excess Baggage; T5 Zone E; help points throughout. Tel T2-4 020 8757 2700, T5 020 8283 6415. Step-free: Accessible lifts throughout; accessible passport lanes; lifts to rail and tube platforms. Guide & assistance dogs: ADI/IGDF-recognised assistance dogs accepted; notify airline 48h; relief areas in every terminal before and after security and in arrivals (e.g. T5 Level 0 Assistance Area; T3 Departures next to Gate 27). Pets: Heathrow Animal Reception Centre approval at least 72h before flight; +44 20 8745 7894. Airport accessibility page Our driver meets you at the assistance desk if you prefer, carries folding wheelchairs and walkers free, and assistance dogs always travel with you at no charge.

The journey

How we get from Greenwich to Heathrow

From Greenwich the driver usually takes the A2 and South Circular west, or the Blackwall Tunnel and the A12 to the North Circular, depending on the traffic.

Heathrow has four terminals and two main approaches, so the driver confirms yours from the flight number: Junction 14 for Terminals 4 and 5, Junction 15 and the M4 spur for Terminals 2 and 3.

  • About 30 miles, usually 45–70 min
  • The Heathrow drop-off charge included in the fixed fare
  • The driver checks traffic before setting off and picks the quicker route
  • Same price day or night, no surge
Get the timing right

Timing your Heathrow flight from Greenwich

Heathrow advises arriving two hours before short-haul and three before long-haul flights. The M25 between Junctions 7 and 15 is the busiest stretch in the country, so we build in a margin.

Early flights

Before 06:00 the roads are clear; allow the shorter end of the journey time plus airport time.

Weekday mornings

07:00–10:00 is the slowest window on the M25 and the South Circular. Add 30 minutes.

Friday afternoons

The M25 anticlockwise is heavy from 14:00. For evening long-haul flights, leave early.

Give us your flight number and we set the pickup time and confirm it by text. Night and early-morning pickups cost the same as daytime ones.

Pre-booked vs app vs train

Is a pre-booked car worth it from Greenwich?

By public transport you would start at Greenwich station and travel into central London and then the Elizabeth line or the Heathrow Express from Paddington. It works for one person with light luggage in the daytime, but it usually means at least one change with cases, and the first trains do not suit early departures.

App cars are least predictable exactly when airport runs need them: early in the morning and at peak times, when surge pricing can take a 30-mile trip well above our fixed £69.

With us the job goes to a named driver confirmed the evening before, the price is agreed in writing and cannot change, and airport charges are already handled.

  • Fixed fare agreed before you travel
  • Saloon (sedan), executive, MPV, 8-seater or 9-seater minibus
  • Free child seats and boosters
  • Card, cash or invoice with nothing added
  • Licensed, DBS-checked drivers
Landing at Heathrow

Coming home from Heathrow to Greenwich

We track your flight and send the driver for the real landing time, not the schedule, so early arrivals and delays are covered without a phone call.

Your 60 minutes' free waiting starts at touchdown. If passport control or baggage reclaim is slow, message the driver and we wait.

Where to meet. The driver waits in the short-stay car park or the airport's designated pick-up area and texts you the exact spot. Meet and greet with a name board in arrivals is available on request.

The run home is the same route in reverse, dropping you at your door in Greenwich or anywhere in Greenwich town centre, Maze Hill, Westcombe Park, East Greenwich, Greenwich Peninsula and Deptford.

Good to know

Greenwich to Heathrow Airport taxi — questions

How much is a taxi from Greenwich to Heathrow Airport?

From £69 one way in a saloon (sedan) for up to four passengers, fixed when you book. An executive car is from £94, an MPV from £78, an 8-seater from £105 and a 9-seater minibus from £111. The Heathrow drop-off charge is included.

How long does it take to get from Greenwich to Heathrow Airport?

Usually 45–70 min for about 30 miles. Early mornings are at the quick end, weekday peaks at the slow end, and we plan your pickup with that margin.

Which terminal will you drop me at?

The one your airline uses. We check it from your flight number, and the Heathrow drop-off charge is included.

Can you pick me up from Heathrow Airport and take me to Greenwich?

Yes, at any hour. Give us your flight number and we track it, with 60 minutes' free waiting from touchdown.

Are child seats and larger vehicles available?

Yes. Child seats and boosters are free, and we have MPVs, 8-seaters and 9-seater minibuses, plus executive Mercedes cars. Tell us when you book.

Is the price fixed from Greenwich?

Yes. The fare is agreed before you travel and does not change with traffic, the time of day or delays at the airport.

EU Entry/Exit System (EES): what travellers ask

How early should I get to a European airport for my flight home?

ABTA advises arriving at least two hours before departure, because the EES exit check can add time at busy airports.

My flight home might land late because of EES queues. What happens to my transfer?

Give your flight number when you book, so the driver can follow the actual landing time rather than the scheduled one.

Does EES registration cost anything?

No. EES registration is free and happens at the border. Be wary of websites that charge for "EES registration"; there is nothing to buy in advance.

Do I need ETIAS as well?

Not yet. ETIAS, the EU's separate online travel authorisation, has not launched, so there is nothing to apply for. The EU will announce a start date months in advance; until then, avoid websites that charge for it.

EES is the EU's digital border check for non-EU travellers, fully in use since April 2026. It is not a visa. Checked September 2026; rules can change, so see the EU Travel to Europe site before you travel.

How to choose. Public transport wins on price for one traveller with hand luggage at 10am. A taxi usually wins when there are two or more of you (one fare for the car, not per person), when you have hold bags or a pushchair, for flights before the first train arrives or landings after the last one leaves, and when a change of train or a station without lifts would be a problem. Rail fares above are per adult; add £4–£6 per person for the DART/shuttle where shown, and remember engineering work most weekends.

Folding wheelchairs, walkers and mobility scooters that fold go in the boot at no extra charge; if you need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle or extra time at pick-up, say so when booking and we will confirm availability before you pay. Rail step-free status changes when lifts are out of service – check the station page or book Passenger Assist (ideally 2 hours ahead); on TfL you can turn up and go.

Child-friendly Greenwich: places for children & family dining

Family restaurants: Pizza Express Greenwich; Bill's Greenwich; Wagamama Greenwich (O2).

Baby changing & feeding: Baby-changing at National Maritime Museum and Greenwich Market area toilets; not at Cutty Sark DLR.

Child seats: licensed private hire cars are exempt from the child-seat law when a seat is not available, but we would rather fit one – give us the children’s ages when you book and we will bring the right seat where we can (free, subject to availability), or you are welcome to bring your own. Pushchairs and travel cots go in the boot at no charge.
